Yeti is all about capturing the things that are important to you as quickly as possible. If you have a brilliant idea or even a crazy silly one, don't overthink it – just capture it. One app for all your thoughts and ideas. In addition to capturing from the app itself, Yeti provides access from Notification Center and 3D Touch Quick Action to immediately start capturing what you care about.
Everything that you capture is automatically saved and synced to iCloud, so you can access them from any device signed into your iCloud account. iCloud and iCloud Drive are required to use Yeti.
Most importantly, Yeti doesn't lock you into a proprietary file format like other capture apps. Everything that you capture is saved in common file formats (.txt, .jpg, .m4a, .mov) that are accessible on virtually every platform and can be easily imported into the apps you already use. Start humming a song idea in Yeti and import that same idea into your favorite DAW with ease.
It's really easy.
That's it. There're more details in this Apple Support Document and this one too.
Sometimes the initial sync of your captures to iCloud Drive can be a bit slow to start. This is an issue with Apple's iCloud Drive syncing and beyond the control of Yeti. But here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Everything you capture with Yeti is available to browse and share right in the app. Just tap the Cloud icon in the top left of the main screen. From here, you can browse or share to your favorite app or social media service. To edit or delete the things you capture, use iCloud Drive on iOS and OS X or iCloud.com on any device.
On iOS, be sure iCloud Drive is enabled and the "Show on Home Screen" option is enabled. On OS X (Yosemite or later), iCloud Drive is located in the left pane of the any Finder window. To access iCloud Drive on Windows, follow the instructions available here.
You can capture stuff even quicker using the Notification Center Today extension or with 3D Touch (if your device supports 3D Touch.)
To add Yeti to Notification Center, scroll down in the list of Notification Center Today extensions and tap on Edit. Then find Yeti and tap the Add icon. Now when you open the Notification Center, you'll be able to quickly capture Notes, Sketches, Audio, Photos, and Videos with the tap of an icon. To access Yeti with 3D Touch, perform a 3D Touch on the Yeti app icon on your home screen.
You haven't captured anything yet! Try drawing a sketch or writing a note and saving it. If you still get this message after that, be sure to enable iCloud and iCloud Drive. Yeti saves everything you capture to iCloud Drive in order to sync it to all your devices.
Don't be miffed, peeved, annoyed, or irritated. Email me instead. Maybe I'm already working on it, but if not I'd love to hear why you'd love to see ____ in Yeti.
